CT Technologist-PRN All Weekdays and Weekend Shifts

About the Role

Minimum Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on CT imaging.
• Current certification as a CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
• Valid state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the United States.
• Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging procedures, radiation safety, and patient care standards.
• Ability to work independently during weekend day and night shifts with minimal supervision.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting, particularly during weekend shifts.
• Additional certifications in advanced imaging techniques or patient care.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and digital imaging software.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT scans on patients following established protocols and physician orders, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment, performing routine quality control and troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
• Review images for clarity and accuracy before submitting them to radiologists for interpretation.
• Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
• Adhere strictly to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients, self, and other staff members.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and optimize imaging workflow during weekend shifts.
• Respond promptly to emergency imaging requests and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Skills

• The required skills enable the CT Technologist to operate complex imaging equipment accurately and safely, ensuring diagnostic images meet clinical standards.
• Proficiency in patient communication and care is essential to prepare and reassure patients, especially during urgent or emergency imaging scenarios.
• Knowledge of radiation safety protocols is applied daily to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure.
• Preferred skills such as familiarity with EMR systems and advanced certifications enhance the technologist’s ability to manage patient data efficiently and perform specialized imaging procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills facilitate effective collaboration with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless patient care during weekend shifts.
