The heart failure nurse provides direct nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs within the inpatient unit. They are responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating care activities for assigned staff to ensure quality outcomes.
Candidates must be graduates of a nursing program and hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or an NLC/eNLC multistate license. BLS certification is required, and while new graduates are eligible, hospital nursing experience and a Bachelor's degree are preferred.
