The physical therapist will assess, plan, and implement rehabilitative programs to improve patient mobility, strength, and pain management. They are responsible for documenting patient progress, supervising support staff, and educating patients on treatment procedures and injury prevention.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent and possess a valid New York State Physical Therapy License. Proficiency in electronic medical record software and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 75 pounds are required.
Assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease or prevent deformity of patients suffering from disease or injury by performing the following duties.

Plans, prepares, and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning in, or alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients. Performs and documents and initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention. Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefits. Administers manual exercises, massage, or traction to help relieve pain, increase patient strength, or decrease or prevent deformity and crippling. Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at Confers with the patient, medical practitioners, and appropriate others to plan, implement, and access the intervention Reviews physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine diagnosis and physical therapy treatments as Records prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in the patient's chart or enter information into the computer.
