About the position

As an Speech Therapist you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for patients, using evidence-based therapy techniques and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and specific needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to patients in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about speech, language, and swallowing disorders, as well as treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Advocate for the speech and language needs of patients within the healthcare team and community.
  • Stay current with best practices and developments in speech therapy through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in California.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
