About the role

Provide physical support for residents' daily activities and personal hygiene under nursing supervision. Administer medications and medical treatments while maintaining accurate resident interaction charts.

What you'll do as a Resident Assistant/ Medication Manager

  • Provide care to residents under the supervision of the nurse and the support of your team
  • Provide physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
  • Assists with organizing, cleaning, laundry, meals, and other assigned tasks
  • Promptly answer residents' calls for assistance and provide compassionate care that is in alignment with their specific care plan
  • Chart resident interactions throughout the shift and communicate efficiently with the members of your team
  • (Upon receiving your Medication Manager certificate) Medication Duties include, but are not limited to, the preparation and administration of medications, tests, and medical treatments
  • Ensures that resident’s rights are adhered to

What you'll need as a Resident Assistant/ Medication Manager

  • Must be 18 years of age to obtain a Medication Manager
  • Must be willing to obtain Medication Manager (We will enroll you upon hire if you haven't already taken the course)
  • (Not required) Current active license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Iowa.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
  • Strong commitment to serving others
  • Prior direct care experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as required

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old and willing to obtain a Medication Manager certificate. A CNA license in Iowa and prior direct care experience are preferred but not required.
