The Assessment Specialist coordinates the pre-admission assessment process and provides clinical evaluations for potential patients. They also respond to inquiries regarding psychiatric services and assist callers in accessing appropriate levels of care.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in a mental health field with a professional license in Georgia or an Associate's degree in Nursing. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments is required.
Education Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field and holds a professional license as an independent mental health professional within the State of Georgia Required or Associate’s Degree in Nursing Required Master’s degree in Nursing Preferred Work Experience 3 years of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments or in a clinical treatment setting Required Licenses and Certifications Licensed to perform clinical assessments to determine level of care needs and to provide a diagnostic impression according to the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual Required Must hold and maintain current licensure as a mental health professional, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Associate Marriage Family Therapist (LAMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or RN license in the State of Georgia Required Additional Licenses and Certifications American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification Required CPI Certified within 90 days of hire Required Business
