Overview The Behavioral Wellness Center at Girard is seeking compassionate and motivated Community Recovery Specialists to support our Goldman Clinic Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP Level 2.1).

The IOP program provides structured, multi day treatment for individuals with substance use disorders who require a higher level of care than traditional outpatient services but do not require inpatient or recovery placement. Services include group therapy, recovery support, and clinical interventions designed to promote stability, relapse prevention, and long term recovery.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about addiction recovery, peer support, and working in a structured clinical environment. Community Recovery Specialists play a key role in supporting participants through treatment engagement, program participation, and successful reintegration into the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one on one peer support and engagement to individuals in recovery
  • Facilitate or co facilitate recovery focused groups and discussions
  • Support daily program structure, attendance, and participant engagement
  • Assist clinical and nursing staff with program operations and participant needs
  • Conduct safety monitoring and support a structured therapeutic environment
  • Transport participants to medical, legal, or community based appointments as needed
  • Document observations and maintain accurate records in the Electronic Health Record
  • Support relapse prevention and recovery planning
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery focused environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 college credits in Behavioral Health, Human Services, or related field required
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals in recovery required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
  • Strong de escalation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and comfort with documentation systems
  • Knowledge of 12 Step Recovery Models, AA, NA, motivational interviewing, and recovery management
  • Certified Peer Specialist or Certified Recovery Specialist training preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred

Requirements
