The Clinical Perfusionist is responsible for managing extracorporeal circulation systems and performing normothermic regional perfusion to preserve donor organs. They collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to coordinate donor care and ensure the readiness of perfusion equipment and supplies.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or higher and be a graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program with at least 5 years of experience. Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and current BLS certification are required.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Exempt employees shall be paid an established salary on a bi-weekly basis and are expected to fulfill the duties of their position regardless of hours worked. The work week for full-time exempt employees is normally considered to be 40 hours; however, greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to the position than on working a specified number of hours. Exempt employees are not eligible to receive overtime compensation. Must be available evenings, holidays, and weekends as required. Call time varies by service area, fluctuations in donor activity, and staff turnover.

The Clinical Perfusionist is a specialized medical professional responsible for preserving and assessing donor organs for transplantation. The Clinical Perfusionist will perform both Thoracoabdominal Normothermic Regional Perfusion (TA-NRP) and Abdominal Normothermic Regional Perfusion (A-NRP). The Clinical Perfusionist will work in a high-performing organ recovery surgery team and must have a strong sense of collaboration, teamwork and excellence in organ recovery.
Duties: & Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with surgeons to establish a bypass circuit involving central cannulation of the right atrial appendage and ascending aorta. 2. Initiate warm, oxygenated perfusion to the thoracic and abdominal regions while ensuring cerebral protection through vessel occlusion. 3. Maintain and monitor all perfusion parameters, including blood pressure, flow rates, temperature, blood gas analysis, and electrolyte levels.
1. Assist with the cannulation of the iliac artery and vein or the abdominal aorta and inferior vena cava to establish abdominal-only perfusion. 2. Control the ECOS circuit to ensure optimal flow and oxygenation to the abdominal organs, such as the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. 3. Monitor and adjust perfusion parameters to optimize organ function and reduce warm ischemic time.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher. Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion program.
Must be able to use office equipment, including personal computer, fax machine, calculator, photocopier/scanner, cell phone and audio/visual equipment. Reliable automotive transportation required.
