The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for implementing and updating patient care plans, performing cardiopulmonary evaluations, and administering various respiratory therapy treatments, including medication and ventilator support. This role also involves educating patients, families, and other healthcare team members on cardiopulmonary health and disease prevention.
The Respiratory Therapist will implement and update care plans, perform cardiopulmonary evaluation, administer respiratory therapy treatment techniques, and provide education to the patient, family, other team members, students, and the public.
Each of the hospitals of Rochester Regional Health provides a full range of diagnostic, treatment and educational services to persons with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. Special emphasis placed on pulmonary health promotion and disease prevention.
Education: AS: Respiratory Therapy (Required)
RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED), RTT - Respiratory Therapy Technician - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
