The following job description identifies the qualifications and standards for Pharmacy Technicians. Pharmacy Technicians will meet the following requirements and competencies listed below. Pharmacy Technicians report directly to the Pharmacist in Charge.
1. Job Summary
The pharmacy technician serves an integral role by assisting the pharmacist in various operations within the pharmacy including, but not limited to:
❖ Processes and fills prescriptions for oral, rectal topical, and injectable medications.
❖ Prepares, packages, and delivers prescriptions.
❖ Orders and receives drug inventory and maintains adequate inventory of stock and supplies.
❖ Corresponds with patients and providers. A successful pharmacy technician will have strong communication skills and be able to perform detailed work. The pharmacy technician will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy as directed to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scope.

❖ Obtains and documents accurate and complete patient medication histories.
❖ Completes outdates and returns in a timely fashion.

❖ Complies with all organizational policies.
3. Regulatory Requirements
❖ Possess and maintain a valid professional license/certification/registration issued by the State Board of Pharmacy.

4. Minimum Employment Requirements
❖ High school diploma or GED.
