About the role

The Radiology Tech performs radiological examinations and produces radiographs to assist in medical diagnoses while ensuring patient safety from radiation. They work under supervision to maintain imaging protocols and regulatory compliance within the perioperative department.

Radiology Tech Full-Time Position Day Shift with Call Requirements

Job Summary

  • Arranges patients for radiological examinations
  • Produces radiographs (x-rays) to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems
  • Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Works under immediate supervision
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • The Radiologic Technologist assigned to the Perioperative Department reports directly to the Director of Perioperative Services for daily operational responsibilities. Professional practice standards, imaging protocols, and regulatory compliance will be maintained in collaboration with and under the professional oversight of the Director of Radiology/Imaging Services.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited program required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Registration as a technologist by the A.R.R.T. required
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
  • 3+ years of experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of Orthopedic experience preferred

Through the years, the hospital grew and evolved into a full-service healthcare facility and the name was changed to Odessa Regional Medical Center to reflect its larger campus and more comprehensive services. The hospital has 225 beds and has approximately 250 physicians on staff and has over 700 employees.

Today, ORMC offers a wide spectrum of healthcare services, including advanced diagnostic imaging technology, emergency care, innovative surgical procedures, maternity care, comprehensive cardiac services and general medical care.

Candidates must hold an Associate's degree from an accredited program and be registered as a technologist by the A.R.R.T. Preference is given to those with 3+ years of experience and 1-2 years of specific orthopedic experience.
