The Lab Assistant performs sample processing, screening, and monitoring tests in compliance with regulatory standards. They are also responsible for performing venipunctures and assisting technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED. While no experience is required, a phlebotomy certification and prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting are preferred.
Overview Description - External - Full time and Part time schedules available on all shifts Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
