Overview

Position Summary

The Aerodigestive Navigator serves as the primary coordinator of care for pediatric patients with complex airway, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and otolaryngology needs. This role combines clinical expertise with care navigation to support children and families and to optimize outcomes for children with complex airway disorders. The Aerodigestive Navigator ensures timely, seamless, and safe transitions across multidisciplinary services, while promoting strong communication between families, the aerodigestive team, and external healthcare partners. With a focus on family-centered care, the Aerodigestive Navigator plays a key role in optimizing outcomes for children with complex aerodigestive conditions.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in science of nursing
• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years pediatric nursing experience required.
• Licensure/
• Certification: Current Illinois Nursing License. Current BLS from the American Heart Association. Current PALS from the American Heart Association.

• Skills/
• Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Demonstrated clinical expertise and sound judgment in managing complex pediatric patients. Excellent teaching skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Proven ability to navigate complex healthcare systems and foster collaborative relationships across specialties. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple aspects of patient care. Commitment to delivering compassionate, family-centered care in a culturally sensitive and supportive manner.
