The Mobile Unit Advocate provides counseling, advocacy, and crisis intervention services to walk-in clients at co-location sites and homeless shelters. They are responsible for case management, developing service plans, and coordinating with external social service and legal agencies.
Candidates should ideally hold a Bachelor's degree in social services with two years of experience, or an Associate's degree with three years of experience. Required certifications include domestic violence training, Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional status, and CPR/First Aid.
TITLE: Mobile Advocate
FT/PT: Full time (35+ hours per week, may include some evenings and weekends)
Pay group: Level 16
Reports to: Mobile Unit Coordinator
Supervises: N/A
The Mobile Unit Advocate has the responsibility provide counseling and advocacy services to walk-in clients in the co-location sites as well as any clients identified in non-domestic violence shelters (i.e. homeless shelters).
