Provides perioperative patient care duties for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves primarily as a scrub technologist while also assisting the circulating nurse.
Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, military experience, or equivalent clinical experience. Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties is required.
Summary of Performance Expectations
Provides patient care duties perioperatively for patients of all ages, infants through adults under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Serves primarily as a scrub technologist. Also functions as a surgical assistant and/or assistant to the circulating nurse.
Graduate of accredited program of Surgical Technology, military experience, recent experience as a surgical technologist, or two years of clinical surgical technology experience at Catawba Valley Medical Center with no degree.
BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Demonstrated ability to function as a surgical assistant in multiple specialties. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
