The provider will deliver high-quality inpatient neurocritical care, including conducting assessments, daily rounding, and managing complex neurological cases. They will collaborate with intensivists to develop treatment plans and perform procedures while ensuring accurate medical documentation.
Candidates must be licensed as an advanced practice nurse or physician assistant in Illinois with DEA and state narcotic prescribing authority. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and ENLS certifications are required or preferred, along with experience in neurocritical care.
In accordance with professional standards of care and adhering to corporate philosophy of OSFMG, the advanced practice nurse/physician assistant shall be responsible for: Providing high quality patient care to the patients of OSF Exposure to a broad range of acute and complex neurological cases Primarily inpatient neurocritical care, including comprehensive neurological assessments, daily rounding, histories and physicals, new consults, admissions, and discharges Perform procedures in collaboration with neurocritical care intensivists Prepare patients for surgery, manage postoperative care, and support smooth care transitions across the continuum Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurocritical care intensivists Collaborative work environment with neurocritical care intensivists, residents, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams Maintaining the consistency and quality of all services provided to the Practice and its patients Maintaining full and current patient medical records, including reports of all examinations, procedures, and other services performed by Provider or other support staff Exercising diligence in assisting the Ministry CEO in keeping costs of the Practice to a minimum while maintaining a high level of quality care for patients Two 12-hour shifts per week (7 PM – 7 AM), Rotating weekends and holidays as part of the schedule
