About the job
As a Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker, you will provide support and assistance to person served in their homes and communities and help maximize the self-help skills of person served in the areas of daily living, coping, boundaries, education, employment, housing, benefits, medication monitoring, and mental and physical health while following person served’s Individual program plan. Starting wage is $22.75 per hour.
Essential job responsibilities include, but not limited to
Monitor, report and document all unusual behavior and overall medical condition of person served.
Complete, sign, date and submit all documentation in a timely manner.
Assure all quarterlies are written, scheduled, held and submitted timely.
Qualifications
A mental health rehabilitation worker must:
have a high school diploma or equivalent;
have the training required under section 245I.05, subdivision 3, paragraph (c); and meet one of the following qualification requirements:
be fluent in the non-English language or competent in the culture of the ethnic group to which at least 20 percent of the mental health rehabilitation worker's clients belong;
have an associate of arts degree;
have two years of full-time postsecondary education or a total of 15 semester hours or 23 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields;
be a registered nurse;
have, within the previous ten years, three years of personal life experience with mental illness;
have, within the previous ten years, three years of life experience as a primary caregiver to an adult with a mental illness, traumatic brain injury, substance use disorder, or developmental disability; or
have, within the previous ten years, 2,000 hours of work experience providing health and human services to individuals.
A mental health rehabilitation worker who is exclusively scheduled as an overnight staff person is exempt from the additional qualification requirements in paragraph (a), clause (3).
