Job summary: To perform radiology, CT and examinations as directed by practitioners

to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This technologist is

a vital member of the Diagnostic Imaging department who is accountable to the

Imaging Director for working to meet the needs of customers/patients in the continuous

pursuit of cost effective and high quality health care.

Job qualifications

Experience: Previous experience as a Radiological Technologist

Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology

Req. Cert./ Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology

Registration CPR certified

Must be licensed by the State of Kansas to perform Radiography

Must maintain continuing education requirements per ARRT

requirements.

JOB DUTIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  • 1.
  • Carriers out directives in a positive manner and accepts responsibility for follow-up.
  • 2.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the department.
  • 3.
  • Takes quality radiographs as directed by practitioner.
  • 1.
  • Aids and assists practitioners in techniques that require technical assistance.
  • 2.
  • Operates the CT scanner efficiently.
  • 4.
  • Works scheduled hours yet is flexible with the schedule to meet the needs of the department.
  • 5.
  • Assists in maintaining the department’s QI requirements 6.
  • Maintains proper safety precautions for patients and staff.
  • 7.
  • Assists in scheduling patients for the department, both in-house and mobile services.
  • 8.
  • Assists in charging the patient, and ensuring that this is done correctly.
  • 9.
  • Assists in maintaining equipment and processor.
  • 10.
  • Assists in maintaining the department’s filing system, including the purging of out-dated films and shredding of papers, when indicated.
  • 11.

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor 13.
  • Ensures for an effective, reliable consistent flow of information to and from other departments of the facility.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and registered with the ARRT. Requires current CPR certification and a Kansas state license to perform radiography.
