The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for cleaning teeth, examining patients for oral diseases, and providing patient-centered oral health education. They also perform clinical duties such as taking radiographs, recording periodontal findings, and maintaining infection control standards.
Candidates must hold an Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA-accredited program and possess an active Illinois dental hygiene license. Additionally, a current CPR/BLS certification and strong knowledge of health and safety regulations like HIPAA and OSHA are required.

The RDH also educates patients on oral hygiene, acquire digital imaging, and applies fluoride or sealants Duties include, but are not limited to: Update electronic health records Utilize oral pathology screening tools Record periodontal findings Complete radiographs and dental impressions Work with treating doctor to Identify conditions including gingivitis, periodontitis, and restorative needs Perform other identified procedures Provide patient-centered oral health education Offer post-operative instructions Document treatment in electronic records Follow infection control and OSHA standards for disinfection and sterilization of spaces and armamentarium Monitor materials and supplies Provide optimal patient care Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications and Skills Associate degree in Dental Hygiene from a CODA Accredited Program Active Illinois dental hygiene license Current CPR/BLS Certification In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills Outgoing and compassionate personality Strong attention to detail Stamina to meet the physical demand of the job Preferred Qualifications and Skills Experience working with Dentrix and/or Eaglesoft Software
Physical Demands Ability to sit, stand or walk for extended periods Ability to wear a facemask for long durations
