About the role

The surgical technologist will prepare surgical supplies and equipment for procedures while assisting the surgical team during operations. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate instrument counts and handling surgical specimens for lab processing.

As a CST you will

  • Prepare surgical supplies and equipment for scheduled and emergency procedures
  • Assist in prepping patients, including cleansing and draping surgical sites
  • Work closely with surgeons and the surgical team during procedures
  • Maintain accurate instrument and sharps counts
  • Handle surgical specimens for lab processing
  • Apply post-procedure dressings and/or casts as needed

A few must-haves for CSTs

  • Active CST license in the state of Indiana
  • Current BLS certification
  • 2+ years of recent surgical tech experience in the CVOR
  • 1+ years of recent experience with Surgical Trauma patients (Level 1)
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in basic vital signs and medication administration

Requirements

Candidates must hold an active CST license in Indiana and current BLS certification. A minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR experience and 1 year of surgical trauma experience is required.
