The technologist performs and reports laboratory procedures while ensuring accurate specimen processing and patient identification. They are also responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, and providing instruction to personnel and students.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution. National certification, such as ASCP, is required in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
