Anesthesia Technician

• The Anesthesia Technician will be under the general supervision of the Chief of Anesthesia.
• In addition to routine anes tech service areas and duties, the incumbent of this position will be responsible for specialty cases such as Transplant, Spines and Cardiac - including any unusal or complex situations.
• Additional service areas include but are not limited to: Radiology, MRI, all pre-op and PACU facilities.
• Must posses and understand some medical terminology to interpret physician instruction.
• The Anesthesia Technician must be able to use judgement and initiative to reconginize conditions that could have potentially harmful outcomes to patient care.
• Works independently, and has ability to make decisions and set priorities with minimal guidance.
• Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with all applicable infection control, health and safety policies and procedures as implemented by the department and/or work unit and UCSF Medical Center.
• Additionally, adherence to departmental policies and procedures, including telephone and house standards is required.
