The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to their training and organizational policies, serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary group across various settings including home care, respite, inpatient, bereavement, or administrative duties. Responsibilities include serving the patient and family under guidance, performing agreed-upon substitute caregiver activities like homemaker chores or errands, and maintaining documentation while adhering to health requirements.
Applicants must be mature individuals supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with their spirituality, and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity, completing required training and orientation. Surviving family members must wait one year after a patient's death before participating in direct patient care or public relations activities.

The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to his/her experience and training and in compliance with organization policies.
