The Peer Support Specialist uses lived experience to connect with clients, helping them identify recovery pathways and bridge gaps in crisis stabilization services. They also assist clients with navigating appointments, accessing community resources, and providing advocacy for those involved in the criminal justice system.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and an Ohio Certified Peer Supporter Certification. A valid Ohio driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance are required to facilitate client transportation.

Catholic Charities is looking for Ohio Certified Peer Supporters to provide ongoing support to people with Substance Use Disorder. Summit County Catholic Charities Peer Supporters are engaged in new innovative First Step emergency department program. Our approach to recovery is strength-based and person centered focusing on tailoring to each individual person. We meet people where they are at through a variety of adaptive supports and programs.
