About the role

The Medical Technician assists physicians with patient care, including performing diagnostic tests, managing patient reactions, and maintaining sterile procedure rooms. They also provide administrative support through scribing and ensuring efficient patient flow within the clinic.

Come join a dynamic, energetic team within the Eye Clinic of Wisconsin! Medical Technician (1.0 FTE) Position: Medical Technician Department: Medical Floor Reports to: Retina Services Manager FLSA: Non-Exempt

Principle

Duties: and Responsibilities:

Assist physicians with patient care, including post-injection ocular assessments and accurate documentation of procedures and diagnostic history Support physicians during in-office intraocular injection procedures Perform fluorescein angiography and monitor patients for adverse reactions Clean, disinfect, and sterilize ophthalmic instruments Maintain strict sterile and clean techniques within procedure rooms Escort patients to and from reception areas and provide mobility assistance, including wheelchair transport Maintain proficiency in the scribe role Review insurance coverage and submit prior authorization requests Perform additional duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Certification as a medical assistant is preferred Experience as a medical assistant is preferred Understanding of medical terminology Demonstrates knowledge of proper, safe, efficient usage of office equipment, computers, and software; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to work in a fast-paced medical facility while adhering to HIPAA compliance regulations Ability to travel to other ECOW locations on a regular basis Work Conditions: Eye Clinic of Wisconsin has eight locations; while staff will be assigned to a “home” location, travel to satellites is a requirement of the position. Hours of work will be dependent on the needs of the Clinic. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting (30 pounds), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs is required.
