Job Details

Night Shift - 7pm to 7

30 pm Experience preferred in Respiratory Care. Must demonstrate knowledge of all Respiratory Care equipment in terms of applications, limitations, troubleshooting, and alternative course of actions. Must possess a broad scope of knowledge in the pathology of disease with focus on cardiopulmonary pathophysiology and respiratory care treatment of disease states.

Responsibilities

Administer advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and provide mechanical ventilation for adults, children, and infants Use invasive and noninvasive technology to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiopulmonary disorders Sample (arterial puncture) and analyze arterial blood gas Sample (arterial puncture) and analyze arterial blood gases Inspect, operate, maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment (oxygen equipment, Cpap, ventilators, blood gas analyzers) and other life support systems Maintain Intubation competency (5 per year) Insertion of radial arterial catheters (5 per year) Assessment /Administration of medical gases and aerosolized medications Follow weaning protocols in Critical Care areas Maintain 10 CEU's / year or 30 per NYS renewal Participate in performance improvement activities as assigned by department director Participate in staff development and continuing education activities as assigned by department director Participate in departmental level coordination activities as assigned by department director

Qualifications

Must have a minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Science. Graduate Degree preferred Must have a New York State Respiratory Therapist License Must be currently active and registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Five years of clinical experience in both adult critical and neonatal / pediatric care settings. Working knowledge of pulmonary diagnostic equipment, therapeutic respiratory equipment, and PC computer BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Specialty Credentials, one or more of the following preferred: Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C) Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)

Salary Range

Usd $56.13 - Usd $64.50 /Hr.

The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Science and a valid New York State Respiratory Therapist License. A minimum of five years of clinical experience in adult critical and neonatal/pediatric care settings is required, along with active NBRC registration.
