The technologist administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures, while also processing data and enhancing digital images using advanced computer technology. They are responsible for providing images, data analysis, and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.
Candidates must possess an Associate degree and be a graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Program, with a Bachelor's degree being preferred. Required credentials include being a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist by NMTCB (if not grandfathered) and having BLS certification completed by hospital orientation.
