Provides direct patient care in acute care departments and communicates clinical conditions to physicians and staff. Performs general nursing duties across departments as cross-trained and responds quickly to changes in patient status.
Requires a current Texas RN license or Compact license and CPR certification. ACLS certification is required within the first year, along with specific departmental certifications like PALS, NRP, TNCC, or ENPC.

Provides direct patient care in the acute care departments. Communicates with physicians, nurses and other staff about patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. Ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient’s condition. Additionally, is cross trained to perform general nursing duties in other departments and may be asked to do any reasonable job duty within scope of practice.
Six months nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
OB - NRP required or obtained within first year
Med/Surg/ICU - PALS required or obtained within first year.
ED - TNCC, ENPC or PALS required or obtained within first year.
Knowledge of applicable regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
