The psychiatrist will perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments, manage psychotropic medications, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in acute inpatient settings. They will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to monitor patient progress and ensure safe, effective transitions of care.
Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in psychiatry and hold an active Maryland medical license with valid DEA certification. Completion of a residency training program is required, with a preference for two years of experience in acute behavioral health settings.
The Adult Inpatient Service Line at Sheppard Pratt in Towson, MD includes a Crisis Stabilization Unit, General Adult Inpatient Units, and specialized care programs. These units provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric care for adults experiencing acute mental health conditions.
The Psychiatrist on Sheppard Pratt’s Adult Inpatient Service Line provides expert psychiatric care for adults with complex and acute psychiatric conditions. This role involves performing comprehensive diagnostic assessments, admission evaluations, and risk assessments; prescribing and managing psychotropic medications; and developing individualized treatment plans. The Psychiatrist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment interventions, and ensure continuity of care.
In addition to direct patient care, the Psychiatrist participates in quality improvement initiatives, supports clinical education, and promotes a culture of patient-centered, evidence-based care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills to coordinate care for adults in acute inpatient settings.
The base pay range for this position is $240,000 minimum to $285,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
