The technician is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and patient care equipment. They also provide mentorship to new staff and ensure compliance with all regulatory and infection control standards.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and hold a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) certification. 1-2 years of experience in sterile processing or surgical services is preferred.
Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of accredited central sterile processing program preferred. Licenses/Certifications Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) required.
