As a Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) at Decatur Memorial Hospital, you’ll deliver advanced, life-saving care to critically ill patients while working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes.

What You’ll Do: Provide expert-level nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring rapid response and precise interventions.

Perform comprehensive assessments and collaborate with physicians to implement complex treatment plans.

Monitor patients closely, administering medications, IV fluids and advanced life-support interventions as needed.

Operate and manage advanced life-support equipment for patients with complex medical conditions.

Offer compassionate support to patients and families, providing education and guidance during critical moments.

Foster seamless coordination among healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For: A skilled critical care nurse who thrives in high-pressure environments, demonstrates excellent clinical judgment and prioritizes patient safety. Education, Licensures & Certifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Licensed RN in Illinois Current BLS/CPR certification ACLS and PALS certification required per policy Experience: Critical care, ICU, or emergency nursing experience preferred Strong ability to manage high-acuity patients and complex care situations

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized nursing care following ICU protocols and best practices. Assess, stabilize and manage patients with life-threatening conditions. Administer medications, IV therapies and advanced clinical interventions. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary teams. Ensure accurate documentation of treatments, patient responses and critical changes. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations and professional standards. Participate in ongoing training, certification and professional development.

This position is based at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL, part of Memorial Health’s network of care.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program and hold a current Illinois RN license. Required certifications include BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS, with preference given to those with ICU or emergency nursing experience.
