As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Care Center at Decatur Memorial Hospital, you’ll provide life-saving care, coordinate treatments and support patients during critical moments.

Work alongside a skilled team where every decision matters and every second counts.

What You’ll Do: Provide expert emergency nursing care, rapidly assessing and stabilizing patients in critical conditions.

Work collaboratively with emergency physicians and multidisciplinary teams to implement fast, effective treatment plans.

Administer life-saving interventions, including medications, IV fluids and advanced resuscitation techniques.

Support trauma response efforts, assisting in high-acuity cases and critical procedures.

Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions and preventive care strategies.

Stay sharp in a high-intensity setting, continuously expanding your skills through hands-on experience and professional development.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For: A dedicated emergency nurse who thrives in high-pressure situations, demonstrates excellent clinical judgment and prioritizes patient safety. Education, Licensures & Certifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program Licensed RN in Illinois Current BLS/CPR certification ACLS and PALS certification required per policy Experience: Emergency nursing, trauma or critical care experience preferred Strong decision-making skills in high-stress situations

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: Deliver urgent and critical care following emergency protocols and best practices. Perform rapid patient assessments, stabilize conditions and manage acute medical issues. Ensure accurate documentation of treatments, medications and patient responses. Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards and safety guidelines. Coordinate with team members during trauma activations and resuscitation efforts. Engage in ongoing training, certification and professional development programs.

This position is based at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL, part of Memorial Health’s network of care.

Requirements
