The Medical Coder 3 abstracts clinical information from medical records and assigns accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes. They are also responsible for working with coding databases and confirming DRG assignments.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and possess either an RHIT/RHIA certification with 3-5 years of acute care experience or 7 years of acute care coding experience. CCS certification is also recognized as a substitute for one year of experience.
