The Radiation Therapist operates CT simulators and delivers, verifies, and records routine courses of treatment under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. They are also responsible for shift accountability, including machine warm-ups and communicating effectively with patients and families.

Scope of work
Under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, uses clinical skills to accurately run CT simulators, deliver, verify and record routine courses of treatment. Assumes shift accountability including machine warm-ups. Utilizes independent judgment and problem solving skills in communicating with patients/families and employees.

Candidates must have a vocational or technical degree in a related field and be a graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program. Required certifications include CRT-Radiation Therapist (ARRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
