About the role

The Ultrasonographer performs various ultrasound and radiography exams to assist physicians in diagnosing diseases and organ malfunctions. They are also responsible for scanning medical documents into databases and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

Position Title

Ultrasonographer REPORTS TO: Manager of Radiology CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt CareSTL Health is seeking an Ultrasonographer to join our team! The Ultrasonographer produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Ultrasonographer may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons.

Perform/produce quality Pelvic, OB, TV, Thyroid, Abdominal, Scrotal, Renal, aorta, and Breast ultrasound exams as well as radiography exams

Scan all necessary documents into the appropriate database for interpretation by the radiologist

Perform examinations in a safe and proper manner with all patients and practice radiation safety to patients, self, and others

Operate other pertinent equipment in the radiology department such as computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and printer

Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Radiology and the Chief Medical Officer

Job requirements and qualifications

Education:

  • Must have received a Certificate of completion from an Allied Health Education (AMA) accredited radiography abdominal and ob/gyn ultrasound program which meets the certification requirements of the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)

Experience

• 1·2 years of experience in radiology performing abdominal, routine ob/gyn, and breast ultrasound radiological exams

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must have excellent oral/written communication skills

Transportation Requirement

• Must have Reliable Transportation

Additional Information

Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

11 paid holidays per year.
