The Orthodontist is responsible for providing a broad range of dental disease treatments. They will manage patient care and perform clinical duties within the scope of their specialty.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited dental school and hold a valid Alaska dental license. Completion of an approved residency program and Board certification or eligibility are required.

The Southcentral Foundation Orthodontist is responsible for a broad range of duties in the treatment of dental diseases.
1. Graduation from an accredited dental school.
2. Licensed as a Dentist in the State of Alaska for all non-intermittent positions.
3. Current license for intermittent positions or Commissioned Corps.
4. Completion of an approved residency training program required for specialty dentistry positions. Must be Board certified or Board eligible.
5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO and PALS as required for specialty and any certification relating to the scope of practice as required.
Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.
