The Home Care Aide provides personal care and emotional comfort to patients in their homes under the direction of a nurse or therapist. They are responsible for meeting the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of patients according to a treatment plan.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, auto insurance, and BLS certification are also required.
The Home Care Aide is under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist and in accordance with a plan of treatment to provide personal care and emotional comfort to patients in a variety of settings. The Home Care aide travels to patient homes and provides in-home care to assigned patients daily. The care provided must be age appropriate and the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the patients are to be met.
