Because of their own life experiences, peers can support others in crises and assist them in recovery so they can remain in their community. The peer support specialist provides outreach and acts as a role model, ally, mentor, planner, advocate, educator, resource connector, and tour guide for clients. 2

Supervisor and supervisory designee to: Communicate with individuals seeking crisis services in respite and the crisis living room Support clients by offering them information and hope Reassure clients through active listening and consultation Locate resources and make referrals to community partners Transport clients as needed Perform light housekeeping duties
