The Pathologist Assistant is responsible for the daily operations of the Surgical Pathology Gross Room and Autopsy, including tissue dissection and specimen preparation. They also oversee workflow, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with regulatory accreditation standards.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Pathologists Assistant, or possess a Doctorate of Medicine. Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already held.
