Responsible for collecting biological specimens from inpatients and outpatients for laboratory procedures. Assists laboratory technologists in sample processing and ensures high-quality specimen collection.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to obtain Phlebotomy Certification within six months of hire. CPR and basic first aid certifications are recommended.
Description Status Hours: 36 hr/wk 5am-5pm Day Shift
Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Phlebotomist in their Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for the collection of biological specimens for the purpose of performing laboratory procedures and assisting laboratory technologists in sample processing. This candidate should create an environment of patient-centered compassionate care to all patients seeking care at Cary Medical Center.
1. No license required - on the job training 2. Obtainment of Phlebotomy Certification required within the first 6 months of employment. 3. CPR and basic first aid recommended 4. High school graduate or equivalent GED
With consideration to our patients’ and staff needs, you may need to work on days, evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
