The Employment Specialist assists individuals with serious mental illness in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment using the IPS model. They collaborate with the ACT Team to provide job coaching, resume development, and coordination with educational and vocational programs.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of experience in human services working with individuals with severe mental illness. A valid New York State driver's license and reliable transportation are required for community-based outreach.
This is a unique opportunity to assist Unity House of Troy’s vulnerable populations through meaningful, recovery-oriented employment services. The Individual Placement Support (IPS) Employment Specialist is a core member of the ACT Team and is responsible for helping individuals with serious mental illness obtain and maintain competitive employment and pursue educational goals using the evidence-based IPS model.
