The Spiritual Care Associate provides personalized spiritual support to patients, families, and staff from diverse religious traditions. Responsibilities include leading services, offering ritual support, and advising the hospital on best practices regarding specific religious needs and accommodations.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree or higher in a field related to their spiritual or religious tradition. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, with previous experience in a hospital, community, or similar setting preferred.

Essential Job Functions: Advise and educate Spiritual Care on best practices to support our patients, families and staff from their tradition. Provides recommendations aligned with their tradition regarding days of special significance, dietary practices, and resource/facilities/infrastructure needs. Leads services, participates in panel discussions, and provides education as requested about their tradition. Follows up in a timely fashion on referrals from chaplains with visits for patients, loved ones and staff who affiliate with their tradition. Provides appropriate resources, rituals requested by patient, loved ones or staff. Communicates with on-call chaplain before and after each visit. Participates in spiritual care departmental meetings at least twice a year. Models the values of our hospital in all interactions with patients, loved ones, colleagues, and staff and performs job functions with focus on excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service. Shows respect for all spiritual and religious traditions, even those outside of their own specific tradition. Works as an employee at the hospital only at the request of chaplains and visits only requested patients in their workplace capacity. Other job functions as assigned.
