Provides direct and indirect patient care while monitoring patient conditions and collaborating with the care team. Ensures patient safety, formulates individualized care plans, and provides education to patients and families.
Requires an Associate’s degree from a Radiological Technology program and current ARRT or RCIS certification. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and be able to obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
Provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Essential Functions: Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors. Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care, revise plan as indicated by the patient's response to treatment, and evaluation overall plan daily for effectiveness. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, provider, patient and family following chain of command as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient protecting patient's rights. Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Education/ Certification Current ARRT or RCIS certification required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required Accepting candidates - Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) CI, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Certified Paramedic (CST) and Certified Surgical Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire or transfer into the position required. Associate’s degree from Radiological Technology program required.
