The Peer Support Specialist mentors individuals in recovery by helping them develop skills, navigate the continuum of care, and avoid relapse. They act as a liaison between clients, clinical teams, and community resources to facilitate long-term recovery and stability.
Requires a high school diploma, certification as a Peer Specialist, and at least two years of experience in a behavioral health setting. Candidates must also possess or obtain CPR, first aid, and de-escalation certifications.
