Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be eligible for a Texas medical license. A minimum of 3 years of residency in Pediatrics is required.

Provide pediatric medical care to patients. Diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries in pediatric patients. Perform medical examinations of the patients and analyze the information collected during the exam in order to assess and diagnose illnesses, injuries and infectious diseases, such as mumps, measles, etc. and to assess patients’ growth and development. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine medical diagnosis. Prescribe, plan and administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children. Collect, record and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results. Track and administer immunizations on schedule.
