The speech therapist will conduct interdisciplinary assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients in their homes. They will also provide therapeutic interventions, educate families, and coordinate care with physicians to ensure patient progress.
Candidates must hold a master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology and possess a valid Washington state license. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is required, with preference given to those with home health experience.
Signature Healthcare at Home is seeking to add a Speech Therapist for Skagit/Island County! This position would cover Skagit County (Mount Vernon, Burlington, Sedro-Wolley, Bow, Anacortes) and part of Whidbey Island (Coupeville, Oak Harbor) for home health speech therapy services. This position works Monday through Friday day shift, with self-directed scheduling dependent on patient needs and territory. Assumes responsibility for the on-going interdisciplinary assessment and development of the individualized plan of care in partnership with the patient, their family / representative(s) and caregiver(s). Provides patient, family and/or caregiver education, counseling, and refers patient to other home health services as appropriate. Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve function. Administrates speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment. Communicates with the physician responsible for the home health plan of care and other health care practitioners on an on-going basis to inform of patient's condition and progress. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Must have a master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology and be licensed in the state of practice. Must possess and maintain licensure to practice in the state of Washington. A minimum of one year's clinical experience is required; home health experience is preferrable. Possess and maintains throughout employment an active driver's license, auto insurance policy and basic lifesaving CPR. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of home health experience. Familiarity with the Homecare Homebase / Pointcare EMR system. Schedule, Pay and Benefits Full-time, 32 hours + a week Hourly pay $50 - $60 per hour, eligible for overtime. Reimbursed for mileage.
