Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist assures that a written physician order is received prior to an exam performance and collects pertinent information. This position reviews exams on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), checking for quality and completeness, and completes paperwork and distributes exams for interpretation. The Ultrasound Technologist efficiently performs all tasks within their designated room and demonstrates regard for patient's safety and comfort.

Functions: Performs general or vascular ultrasound exams. Assures that a written physician order is received prior to an exam procedure and collects pertinent information prior to the ultrasound procedure. Reviews exams on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), checking for quality and completeness. Completes proper paperwork and distributes exams for interpretation. Efficiently performs all tasks within their designated room, including cleaning and stocking their room, cleaning the machine and filter, and deleting exams off the machine daily. Demonstrates regard for patients’ safety and comfort during transportation, immobilization and positioning of patient. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
