The technologist will perform home and in-lab sleep studies, including data collection, analysis, and report generation. Additionally, the role involves managing patient registrations, insurance authorizations, and scheduling to ensure efficient department operations.
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED and possess at least six months of experience in a sleep lab. A valid RPSGT, CRT-SDS, or RRT-SDS credential and active BLS certification are required.
Summary This role will be taking on all facets of home sleep testing (cleaning, disinfection, preparation, education, uploading/downloading, troubleshooting, problem solving & logging). Additionally, this role will serve as back-up for prior authorizations and registration as needed to keep department caught up.
Polysomnographic Technologist Analyst Full-Time, Days The Sleep Center team at Baptist Health Lexington is dedicated to providing high-quality support to patients undergoing sleep studies. As a Registered Sleep Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations in our Sleep Center through direct-care of patients for home sleep testing as well as in-lab testing such as PSG, MSLT and MWT as needed. Additionally, clerical duties, patient registrations, authorizations, and scheduling will also be expected. You will provide essential support to physicians, patients, and staff, ensuring patient care and organizational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Follow procedural protocols (such as PSG, PAP Titrations, MSLT, MWT, HST, parasomnia studies, oxygen titration, etc) to ensure collection of appropriate data. Ensuring smooth and continuous home sleep test program. Responsible for timely analysis of polysomnographic and home sleep tests and generating of concise, detailed summary reports. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and process registrations, ensuring accuracy to avoid duplicate records. Review of patient's medical record to ensure appropriate test is being conducted. Schedule appointments, sleep studies, and follow-up appointments, ensuring patients are informed of their appointment details and financial responsibilities. Answer phone calls, respond to requests, and provide assistance, ensuring a positive experience for patients, physicians, and staff. Telephone confirmation of all appointments Ensure all required precertifications, authorizations, and referrals are obtained for patient appointments and testing. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines, ensuring patient data integrity while using required software applications like Onbase, Right Fax, Epic, and Microsoft Outlook. Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required: High School Diploma or GED. 6 months experience in sleep lab Ability to perform duties in a professional and customer-focused manner. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic knowledge of healthcare administration and medical terminology is a plus. Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited education facility; or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technologist. Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist Must be a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with sleep disorders credential (CRT-SDS, RRT-SDS) Must maintain active Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
