The Patient Care Assistant provides direct patient care and routine nursing support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They also assist with wound care, maintain unit supplies, and support age-appropriate activities for pediatric patients.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED, an Ohio STNA license, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. One year of pediatric experience is preferred.
The part-time, day shift position is 24 hours/week, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
The Patient Care Assistant assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCA provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned. Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families. Assists with wound and skin care, keeps unit and work areas stocked, and provides delegated nursing care activities as appropriate. Assists with the planning and provision of structured, age appropriate activities for patients under the guidance or direction of a Child Life Therapist. Monitors children’s activities and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment for children.
