The Endoscopy Technician assists medical staff in the preparation and performance of GI procedures by managing sterile and non-sterile equipment. They also coordinate patient care, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
Candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent with one year of patient care experience, or relevant certifications such as CNA, EMT, or a bachelor's degree. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be maintained.

Summary The Endoscopy Technician reports to the Nurse Manager and is responsible for assisting surgeons/gastroenterologists/physicians and other medical staff in preparation and performance of surgical/endoscopy procedures by processing and furnishing sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment and services for the care and treatment of patients. Minimum Requirements: At least 1 year work experience in a .6fte GI Technical Specialist I position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility; or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution; or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution; or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training.
